Hear from Our Customers
When tooth pain strikes at 2 AM or your crown falls out on a weekend, you need a dentist who actually answers. We’ve built our reputation on being there when other offices are closed—even coming in during snowstorms and holidays to treat patients in severe pain.
That’s the difference between surviving a dental emergency and getting real relief. You’ll have direct access to experienced care when every minute counts, not just a voicemail telling you to go to the ER.
Most dental problems get worse when you wait. Infections spread. Pain intensifies. What could have been a simple filling becomes a root canal, or worse, an extraction. Emergency care isn’t just about comfort—it’s about saving your teeth and your health.
Dr. Scott Kupetz graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson College of Dental Medicine in 1988 and has been serving Schodack and surrounding Rensselaer County communities ever since. What started as a commitment to excellent dentistry evolved into something deeper—helping people overcome the fears that keep them from the care they need.
As one of the few general dentists in the Capital District certified for sedation dentistry, Dr. Kupetz understands that dental anxiety isn’t something you just “get over.” Many of our current patients have been with our practice for decades, and we now treat multiple generations of the same families.
This longevity in Rensselaer County reflects not just clinical skill, but the trust and comfort patients feel in our care. Schodack residents know they can count on genuine understanding here, whether they need routine cleanings or complex restorative work.
Your first visit starts with a conversation, not a drill. Dr. Kupetz will discuss your concerns, review your dental history, and create a treatment plan that makes sense for your situation and comfort level. No judgment about missed appointments or neglected teeth—just comprehensive care designed around what you need.
If you choose sedation, we’ll explain exactly what to expect and ensure you have someone to drive you home. We offer several sedation levels, from nitrous oxide to oral conscious sedation, all certified by New York State and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.
Many patients are surprised by how relaxed and comfortable they feel throughout their entire appointment. Procedures that once required multiple visits can now be completed in a single, stress-free session. You’ll wake up with the work done and little memory of the actual procedure, but complete confidence in the quality of care you received.

From routine cleanings to complete smile makeovers, we offer the full spectrum of dental care. General dentistry includes preventive care, fillings, and early treatment of problems before they become expensive emergencies. Cosmetic treatments like professional teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, and smile makeovers can dramatically improve your appearance and confidence.
Restorative dentistry saves damaged teeth with dental crowns, bridges, and tooth restoration procedures. For patients missing teeth, dental implants provide a permanent solution that feels and functions like natural teeth. We also handle emergency situations like severe toothaches, broken teeth, and knocked-out teeth.
Schodack and Rensselaer County residents appreciate having comprehensive care available locally. No referrals to multiple specialists unless absolutely necessary. Whether you need a simple cleaning or full mouth reconstruction, Dr. Kupetz has the experience and technology to deliver lasting results while keeping you comfortable every step of the way.
Severe tooth pain that doesn’t respond to over-the-counter medication often indicates a serious problem like an infection or abscess that needs immediate attention. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling, but avoid placing aspirin directly on your gums as this can burn tissue.
Call our office immediately, even if it’s after hours or on weekends. We prioritize dental emergencies and can often accommodate same-day appointments. Dr. Kupetz has a history of coming in during holidays and severe weather to treat patients in severe pain.
Don’t wait for the pain to get worse or try to tough it out. Dental infections can spread to other parts of your body and become life-threatening. Emergency care isn’t just about comfort—it’s about protecting your health and saving your teeth before the problem becomes irreversible.
Yes, we work with most major dental insurance plans and our office staff is experienced in helping patients understand their coverage and maximize their benefits. Dawn, our office manager, is particularly knowledgeable about insurance questions and can help determine what treatments are covered under your specific plan.
We also offer flexible payment options for patients without insurance or for treatments not fully covered. During your consultation, our staff will provide a clear explanation of costs and work with you to find a payment solution that fits your budget.
Don’t let insurance concerns prevent you from getting the dental care you need. Our office staff will handle the paperwork and work directly with your insurance company to ensure you receive the maximum benefits available under your plan.
Dr. Kupetz is certified by New York State and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, offering several levels of sedation to match your anxiety level and treatment needs. Options include nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for mild anxiety, oral conscious sedation for moderate anxiety, and IV sedation for patients with severe dental phobia.
During your consultation, Dr. Kupetz will discuss which option works best for your specific situation and medical history. Many patients are surprised by how comfortable and relaxed they feel with sedation dentistry, and some report having little to no memory of the actual procedure while still feeling completely safe throughout the experience.
Sedation dentistry allows even the most anxious patients to receive comprehensive dental care comfortably. Procedures that once required multiple visits can now be completed in a single, relaxed appointment, helping you catch up on neglected dental work without the stress and fear that may have kept you away.
Dr. Kupetz offers a full range of cosmetic dentistry services to improve both the appearance and function of your teeth. Professional teeth whitening can remove years of stains from coffee, wine, and aging to give you a brighter, more youthful smile. Porcelain veneers can cover imperfections like chips, cracks, or discoloration while creating a uniform, natural-looking smile.
Dental crowns and cosmetic bonding can repair damaged teeth and improve their shape and color. For patients with multiple cosmetic concerns, smile makeovers combine several treatments to create dramatic improvements in your appearance and confidence. We also offer Botox and Juvederm to complement dental treatments and create a more youthful overall appearance.
All cosmetic treatments are designed to look completely natural while addressing your specific concerns. Dr. Kupetz takes time to understand your goals and explain your options, ensuring you’re comfortable with the treatment plan before moving forward. Many patients receive compliments on their smiles after cosmetic treatment.
Dr. Kupetz prioritizes dental emergencies and often accommodates same-day appointments for urgent cases. We understand that dental pain and emergencies can’t wait for regular business hours, which is why emergency care is available even on weekends and holidays when other offices are closed.
When you call with a dental emergency, you’ll speak directly with our office staff who can assess your situation and determine how quickly you need to be seen. For severe pain, infections, or trauma, Dr. Kupetz has been known to come in immediately, even during snowstorms or on holidays, to provide relief.
Don’t suffer through dental pain or risk making the problem worse by waiting. Call our office immediately if you have severe tooth pain, facial swelling, a knocked-out tooth, or any other urgent dental situation. Quick action can often save a tooth that might otherwise be lost and prevent complications that could affect your overall health.
Your first visit begins with a thorough consultation where Dr. Kupetz listens to your concerns, reviews your dental history, and discusses any anxiety you might have about treatment. He takes time to understand your goals and explain what he finds in terms you can actually understand, without pressure or judgment about past dental experiences.
A comprehensive examination will assess your current oral health, and Dr. Kupetz will explain exactly what needs to be done and walk you through all your options, including sedation dentistry if that would help you feel more comfortable. You’ll receive a clear treatment plan with no surprises, allowing you to make informed decisions about your care.
Our office environment is designed to be warm and welcoming, and our staff takes pride in making patients feel like family. If treatment is needed, follow-up care is scheduled at your convenience with flexible appointment times that work around your schedule, including late evening appointments on Mondays for busy professionals.
