In rural Ulster County, finding a dentist who can handle more than just cleanings isn’t easy. Most practices refer you out for anything beyond basic work. That means more appointments, more driving, more time away from what matters.
We handle it all in one place. Dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, emergency care, sedation options—you’re not getting shuffled around. You’re getting comprehensive treatment from someone who’s been doing this since 1988.
And if you’ve been putting off care because of anxiety or past bad experiences, you’re not alone. Nearly 40% of adults deal with dental fear. We get it. That’s why we’re a certified sedation dentistry facility. You can get the work done without white-knuckling through it.
Dr. Kupetz graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson College of Dental Medicine in 1988 and has been placing dental implants and restoring smiles in this community ever since. He’s treated multiple generations of local families—people who trust him because he’s earned it over 30 years, not through marketing.
Ulster County is designated as a Health Professional Shortage Area for dental care, which means access to quality treatment isn’t guaranteed. We’ve built our practice around filling that gap. We take emergency calls. We don’t rush you through appointments. We explain what’s actually going on and what your options are.
You’re not a number here. You’re a neighbor.
First visit starts with a conversation, not a sales pitch. Dr. Kupetz will ask about your concerns, your history, and what’s been keeping you from getting care. If you’re dealing with pain or an emergency, we’ll address that first.
Then comes the exam. We’ll take a close look at what’s going on—X-rays if needed—and walk you through what we find. No jargon. No assumptions that you already know what a crown or implant involves. Just clear explanations.
From there, you’ll get options. If it’s a simple filling, we can usually handle it same-day. If it’s something more involved like an implant or cosmetic work, we’ll map out a plan that makes sense for your schedule and budget. And if you need sedation to get through it comfortably, we’ll talk through what that looks like.
You’re in control of the timeline. We’re here to give you the information and the care—not pressure you into anything.

We handle general dentistry—checkups, cleanings, fillings, crowns. The stuff that keeps your teeth healthy and catches problems before they become expensive.
We also do dental implants. Dr. Kupetz has been placing them for over 30 years with a success rate between 95-98%. If you’re missing teeth or dealing with failing ones, implants are the closest thing to getting your natural teeth back. They last decades with proper care, and they don’t rely on neighboring teeth like bridges do.
Cosmetic dentistry is another focus. Teeth whitening, veneers, Juvederm for facial aesthetics—if you’re unhappy with your smile, we can fix it. And for patients dealing with severe anxiety, we offer multiple sedation options including IV sedation administered by board-certified anesthesiologists.
Accord and the surrounding Hudson Valley communities don’t always have easy access to specialists. We’ve built this practice so you don’t need them. You get comprehensive care under one roof, from a dentist who’s been part of this community for three decades.
Call us immediately. Dr. Kupetz takes emergency calls and has come in on weekends and holidays for patients in severe pain. Dental emergencies don’t wait for business hours, and neither do we.
If you’re dealing with a knocked-out tooth, severe pain, or an abscess, time matters. Many practices in the area won’t see you for a month or more, which means you’re left managing pain or heading to an ER that can’t actually fix the problem. We prioritize emergency cases and will get you in as quickly as possible—often same-day.
When you call, describe what’s happening. We’ll walk you through immediate steps you can take and get you scheduled. Don’t wait until the pain is unbearable. The longer you put off treatment, the more invasive and expensive it becomes.
Dental implant costs vary based on how many you need and whether additional procedures like bone grafting are required. A single implant typically ranges from $3,000 to $4,500. We’ll give you an exact estimate after your consultation.
Yes, we accept most insurance plans, and we offer flexible payment plans to make treatment affordable. Many people avoid implants because of upfront cost, but when you factor in that they can last a lifetime—and that they prevent bone loss and shifting teeth—they’re often the most cost-effective long-term solution.
Bridges and dentures need replacement every 5-10 years. Implants don’t. Dr. Kupetz has patients who’ve had their implants for 20+ years with zero issues. We’ll break down all your options, what insurance covers, and what financing looks like so you can make an informed decision.
Yes. We’re a certified sedation dentistry facility, which means we offer multiple options depending on your level of anxiety and the procedure involved.
For mild anxiety, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) works well. You stay awake and aware but feel relaxed. For moderate to severe anxiety or longer procedures, we offer oral sedation or IV sedation administered by board-certified anesthesiologists. You’ll be in a deep state of relaxation or sleep, and you won’t remember the procedure.
Dental anxiety is real. Studies show that 10-20% of Americans avoid the dentist entirely because of fear, often stemming from past negative experiences. We’ve worked with countless patients who hadn’t seen a dentist in years because of that fear. Sedation removes the barrier. You get the care you need without the panic, and you leave wondering why you waited so long.
A general dentist focuses on oral health—cleanings, fillings, treating decay and gum disease. A cosmetic dentist focuses on improving the appearance of your teeth and smile. Dr. Kupetz does both.
That means you don’t need to see multiple providers if you want a healthier and better-looking smile. We can address cavities and gum issues while also whitening your teeth, placing veneers, or reshaping your smile. It’s comprehensive care that considers both function and aesthetics.
Cosmetic work isn’t just vanity. If you’re self-conscious about your smile, it affects how you interact with people, how you show up in photos, even how you feel about yourself. Fixing that has real value. And when it’s done by someone who also understands the health side, you get results that look good and last.
Most people should come in every six months. That’s the standard recommendation, and it’s based on how quickly plaque and tartar build up. If you have gum disease, a history of cavities, or other risk factors, we might recommend every three to four months.
Regular checkups catch problems early. A small cavity is a simple fill. A neglected cavity becomes a root canal or extraction. Gum disease in its early stage is reversible. Left untreated, it leads to bone loss and tooth loss.
In rural areas like Ulster County, a lot of people can’t keep up with routine care due to access or cost. By the time they come in, the damage is extensive. We’ve seen patients in their 20s and 30s with cavities in nearly every tooth because they waited years between visits. Don’t let that be you. Prevention is always cheaper and less painful than repair.
In most cases, yes. Implants are the closest thing to natural teeth. They’re anchored into your jawbone, which means they don’t slip, they don’t require adhesive, and they prevent bone loss that happens when teeth are missing.
Dentures rest on your gums and can shift when you eat or talk. They also don’t stimulate the bone, so your jaw gradually shrinks over time. Bridges rely on neighboring teeth for support, which means grinding down healthy teeth to anchor the bridge. Implants stand alone.
Dr. Kupetz has been placing implants since the late 1980s. Success rates are between 95-98%, and with proper care, they last decades. They’re a bigger upfront investment than dentures or bridges, but they’re a one-time fix. You’re not replacing them every few years. For most patients, that makes them the smarter long-term choice.
